Cross Country

On Friday the 6th of September we had our school cross country.

Ready to race!

We trained really hard and all of us completed the run.

Some of us even placed in the top six and will go to Interschools to represent Hamilton East School.

We all had a lot of fun.

Thank you to all our friends and family who came down to cheer us on.

We read the book The Tree House Treaty by Wiremu Grace.   The children in the story built a tree hut in a big old Pohutakawa tree.  They made a treaty to agree how they could all use their tree hut fairly. We created our own class treaty to symbolize how our class is a friendly and supportive learning environment.

Swimming

Everyday we have swimming. We have people who are learning to get their faces wet by playing ring-a-rosie. Some of us are learning to kick so the water bubbles. And some of us are learning to do freestyle without splashing the water by cupping our hands. On Fridays we get to practice our swimming by having free time. It is fun! Today we made a whirlpool. We made it go fast and it started dragging us. Then we went the other way. It was hard because the water was pushing us back. When we finished the water was pushing us along.

Welcome to Quad Blogging

This week is the beginning of our Quad Blogging.  This is a great way to connect with other classes around the world. It is when you have other classes around the world that are your friends.
