We are a class of Year 3 and 4 students at Hamilton East School in Hamilton, New Zealand. Our teacher is Rebecca Wilcox, you can contact her by emailing rwilcox@hameast.school.nz.
We love learning together and sharing our learning with others.
The school year has begun and Room 14 is happy to be back at Hamilton East School, ready to learn. This year our teacher is Mrs Nicholson. Welcome to our blog.
Hi New Zealand my name is Nicole and it looks like you guys are going to have a wonderful year there. How is it going so far? What do you like doing the best in school? You all look like you are going to have a ggood time this year. Let me know how you are enjoying your year.
Hi newzealand my name Vonisaac Iam 10 years old my teacher is M.r daub Ilike to play what you did in the picure and Ilike the sound and its awsome and its that the whole people in one class and how did you do that the picture it can be smaal and big and rolling and you have must huge classes.
We read the book The Tree House Treaty by Wiremu Grace. The children in the story built a tree hut in a big old Pohutakawa tree. They made a treaty to agree how they could all use their tree hut fairly. We created our own class treaty to symbolize how our class is a friendly and supportive learning environment.
Everyday we have swimming. We have people who are learning to get their faces wet by playing ring-a-rosie. Some of us are learning to kick so the water bubbles. And some of us are learning to do freestyle without splashing the water by cupping our hands. On Fridays we get to practice our swimming by having free time. It is fun! Today we made a whirlpool. We made it go fast and it started dragging us. Then we went the other way. It was hard because the water was pushing us back. When we finished the water was pushing us along.
Anna knows some students from New Zealand who are currently overseas on an AFS exchange . She got them to email a photo of their lunch to us. One of the students also sent photos of their breakfast and dinner. Photo A Photo B Photo C Photo D Photo E Photo F Please leave us a comment with your guess about where you think the food comes from. A big thank you to Chayla, Caroline and Brittany for emailing these photos to us. We will write another post soon explaining what the food is and where it is from.
Welcome back to school. We look forward to work with you this year!
