Storybird

We were looking at  2KM and 2KJ's blog and they had written some great stories using Storybird.

We enjoyed reading the stories 2KM and 2KJ had created. They made us laugh and they had great characters. So today Anna thought she would make one. We all helped give ideas and choose the characters. Finally Anna finished it!

    Wow! We liked the way you talked about our school. The pictures symbolise the kids at Hamilton East School. We like the mammoth at the beginning.

    Wow! I like how you described stuff the the story with the words and the pictures. The bit that was funny to me was the part were they said "We are all different" and you had a picture of a buffalo.

We read the book The Tree House Treaty by Wiremu Grace.   The children in the story built a tree hut in a big old Pohutakawa tree.  They made a treaty to agree how they could all use their tree hut fairly. We created our own class treaty to symbolize how our class is a friendly and supportive learning environment.

Swimming

Everyday we have swimming. We have people who are learning to get their faces wet by playing ring-a-rosie. Some of us are learning to kick so the water bubbles. And some of us are learning to do freestyle without splashing the water by cupping our hands. On Fridays we get to practice our swimming by having free time. It is fun! Today we made a whirlpool. We made it go fast and it started dragging us. Then we went the other way. It was hard because the water was pushing us back. When we finished the water was pushing us along.
