We have been learning about Winnie the Pooh this week.  We looked at the mini adventures of Winnie the Pooh on Youtube.  Then we made stick puppets and wrote our own scripts to make a play.  Have a look at the first group's play. We also had fun playing some of the Winnie the Pooh games. Try these links http://www.roundgames.com/onlinegame/Winnie+the+Pooh http://disney.go.com/pooh/games-and-activities/

Salt dough

Today we had our first go at salt dough.  Mrs Nicholson helped us work out how much we would need to make so we could all have a go.  We used our maths knowledge to work out the ratios of salt, flour and paste and made it up.  We kneaded the dough until it was a little bit smooth and then made up the shape of one of the animals we had seen at the farm show.  Mrs Nicholson is going to bake a couple tonight to see how our recipe worked and tomorrow we will make some up to make into fridge magnets.  Have a look at what we did. Rosies World

We have now almost all completed our calf rearing on Rosie's world.  See the link to the right of this page.  We have spent two weeks feeding, grooming and caring for our calf.  Some of us forgot to get online and feed our calf for a couple of days and found that he had left home in search of food.  We were so sad we had to begin all over again.  This game has taught us lots about having to look after our calf. We also went onto youtube and looked at some videos that Rosie puts out to explain about how cows work and how the dairy factory works.  Here is one of the videos we watched that explains all about how a cow eats and digests their food. http://www.rosiesworld.co.nz/about-farms/rosies-farm/video-from-grass-to-glass Wow fancy having four parts to your stomach and being able to eat anything . . .

My hospital Visit

Image
Going to the Hospital “Ahhh”, screaming like a bird “I do not want to go to hospital!” Pinch! “Ouch” “I will keep doing that if you don’t go to the hospital.” “Okay!” “Now, have you got your PJ’s?” “Yep.” “Go in the car.” “Okay.” I went to the car and we went to the hospital and I was shivering like and iceberg. I was really cold. I started to shiver louder and louder. Then, “Ahh.” Pinch! “Ouch! That hurt.” “Then don’t scream.” “Okay, okay.” The nurse asked me some questions and then zzzzzzz I went to sleep.

Athletics

Yay we are back at school.  Today Greg came from Sports Waikato to help us perfect our running styles.  We had to focus on: running on the balls of our feet keeping our arms shaped like an 'L' moving our arms straight up and down as we ran We ran some relays in teams and made sure we passed the baton on correctly by remembering to: hold out the opposite hand to the baton holder  call out 'run' to the person ahead of us as we approached them using a chopping action to pass the baton to the next runner
