Terrific Talk

Image
What is Terrific Talk? Terrific Talk is when we record ourselves using Photo Booth talking about a topic. We decide each day as a class what the topic will be. It is important to have thinking time before you start recording yourself speaking. We also listen to our recording from the day before so we can remember what we want to improve on. Anna thinks it has really helped us to share our ideas with others and to realise that all our ideas are important. Here are some brainstorms about what we think about and what we learn doing Terrific Talk  Here is a vimeo of Terrific Talk about our favourite place-

Our Holidays

Image
When we came back to school from our holidays we had lots of things to share with each other. We made a picture brainstorm of all the things we had done while we were away. We drew pictures of what we did in the holidays. We weren't allowed to do any writing it could only be drawings.  Can you tell what we did in the holidays?                                           By Lucy                                                 By Xiomy                                                     By Emily                                By Aisha       ...

Storybird

We were looking at   2KM and 2KJ's blog and they had written some great stories using Storybird. We enjoyed reading the stories 2KM and 2KJ had created. They made us laugh and they had great characters. So today Anna thought she would make one. We all helped give ideas and choose the characters. Finally Anna finished it! Favourite Books

Image
This week Anna (our teacher) is going to read us some picture books that she enjoyed reading when she was younger. Today she read us "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. Some of us had heard the story before because someone in our family had read it to us. What was your favourite book when you were little? Who read it to you? Can you remember why you liked it?

Our Library

Room 14 is super lucky because we get to go to the library twice a week.  On Tuesday we do 10 minutes silent reading.  Whaea Cathy loves books and sometimes she reads to us. Sometimes she sets every class in the school a challenge. She even plays games with us like, beat the clock, simon says, green eggs and ham, and concentration. Whaea Cathy has a toy cockroach - lucky Room 14 knows what to say when they see a cockroach.
