Room 14's Visitor
Today Room 14 received an unexpected visitor, who was found hopping around by the school pool this morning. We enjoyed spending time with him, doing rabbit writing, sketching and handwriting.
Dioramas
In Room 14 we have decided to create a stop motion movie to share what we have learnt about books and libraries as our online presentation for the Hamilton East 150 year celebrations. We started this by creating dioramas showing the most important events in the history of libraries. Once these are completed they will form the backdrop for our movie. Books
Our classes topic for Hamilton East's 150th birthday is books and the library. We started this by sharing our favourite books and why these were special to us. We then researched online which books were the most popular during each decade and created posters showing this information. Our next step is to find our which books our Parents and Grandparents enjoyed as children so that we are able to compare these to our own favourite books and the research we completed.
Play, Make, Create
Room 14 enjoy play, make, create weekly where students are given challenges relating to a book we have read then choose one of these to complete. Check out yesterday's creativity relating to the book We are all equal. :)
Swimming
In Room 14 we have been working on our swimming over the last few weeks. It has been fantastic to watch students grow in water confidence and improve their techniques. Enjoy some pictures of us swimming. :)
